Under Neon Skies
Under Neon Skies
Back in 2020, when everything was shut down, I started making a lot of digital art in Procreate. It was my way of processing the weirdness of that year. This piece was about a memory of a night, getting completely lost. I mean lost in the city, lost in time, lost in connection. And eventually lost in the universe, because I knew then that I was just stardust.
This was really about the fun kind of lost. The kind where you’re wandering, laughing, not caring where you’re going. The city lights blur into the stars, and suddenly you remember what it was like to just hold someone’s hand, step into the unknown, and not worry about germs ruining the moment. Thanks a lot, pandemic, for making me nostalgic for touching other humans.
For me, this one is about the joy of wandering, the magic in not having a plan, and the kind of night that ends up being a memory you’ll never forget, no map required.
