There’s Always Paris
There’s Always Paris
A phrase that lingers like a half-smile, a reminder of a moment that could have been everything in another life. This painting is about connection and bad timing. Someone I could have loved in another iteration of the universe. A fleeting encounter that felt true, even if it was never meant to last.
I began by sketching the figure, her head tilted in quiet reflection, suspended in that space between longing and acceptance. The muted background contrasts with her warm tones, holding the memory of intimacy against a world that feels distant. The addition of a random plant is a nod to an inside joke. I’ll leave it at that.
Will we always have Paris, or did we even have Paris to begin with? It’s the way certain moments become timeless in our minds. Heartbreak romanticized not because it lasted, but because it didn’t. A tender ache, crystallized into something beautiful because it could never fully be.
